CSA MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT
Island Grown Initiative
CSA Membership Agreement: Winter CSA 2025-26
By signing up for IGI’s Winter CSA you understand and agree to the following:
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is an agreement between farm and member. The member promises to pay an up-front cost in exchange the farm promises to provide fresh, quality produce during the winter season.
Approximately half of the food we grow at the farm is donated to Islanders in need of food support through our Island Food Pantry and other food equity partners. The member fees from our CSA program help underwrite the cost of these donations and support our regenerative agricultural efforts at the farm.
The member will receive a biweekly portion of the harvest for the duration of winter CSA, October 30, 2025 through February 5, 2026. It is the responsibility of the member to pick up their share on Thursday between 3:00pm and 5:30pm. If the member is unable to pick up it is expected they send a friend, neighbor, or family member to pick up. If no one is able to pick up the member must communicate to the CSA manager and pick up at a later date. If the share is not picked up by the following Monday it will be redistributed. A refund will not be issued for any missed shares.
Pick up day is subject to change due to holidays or severe weather circumstances.
The member is responsible for reading the newsletter each week to know of any scheduling or pick up changes.
The potential risks of CSA include crop loss due to weather, insects and pests, and other production factors. Signing up for the CSA means you agree to share these risks. A refund will not be issued but we will do our best to make up for crop loss by offering more of an item of equal value. If necessary, we will purchase produce from another island farm in the event of crop loss. Members will be made informed of any produce purchased from other farms in this event.
Members also understand the potential of crop surplus.
Members are expected to follow farm guidelines when visiting the farm.
Park at the community garden. If you are unable to walk from the community garden or the ground is icy, you can drive up to the CSA stand. However, we ask you not to park here long term so we can keep the area clear for tractors and other farm vehicles.
With the exception of service animals, please plan on leaving your pets at home or in the car. Dogs are not allowed at the CSA pick up site or in the fields, including the u-pick area, as part of our food safety policy.
Members are allowed in the u-pick fields but please do not walk to other fields or areas of the farm unless accompanied by staff.
There is no u-pick during winter CSA. When u-pick is open during summer, members are only allowed to pick during regular CSA hours. For safety reasons we cannot have members in the field during other times. We cannot accommodate for bad weather or missed pick ups. If you are physically unable to pick from the you-pick please contact our CSA manager before pick up and they can harvest for you.
Summer CSA members can expect to receive beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, collards, eggplant, kale, lettuce, melons, onions, peppers, potatoes, strawberries, summer squash, tomatoes and more during the summer and early fall. Winter CSA includes more storage and root crops such as beets, cabbage, celeriac, carrots, garlic, kohlrabi, onions, potatoes, radishes, and turnips. Plus greens from our indoor soil beds.
This agreement can change between each CSA program due to the seasonality of the programs.
